It was snowing again. Not the soft, fluffy kind that softened the air and made the gray world seem a little brighter, and not the heavy whiteout blizzard sort that would whip through occasionally, sending cats of all kinds scurrying for cover until it passed. No, this was an altogether unpleasant precipitation. Whether it not it could even be called 'snow' was debatable, but in Creampaw's mind it just barely squeezed past the definition line. The damp, cold, almost ice-like clumps were admittedly more like sleet than true snow', and the ground was still warm enough that they melted almost as soon as they touched down, but if you looked close enough you could still see the crystals, and that was good enough for him. It sure wasn't rain, (that would almost have been preferable,) and 'frozen rain' implied a certain actual frozen-ness that this... stuff... clearly lacked.
The end result was still more or less the same, though. Creampaw was stuck huddled in the apprentice's den, watching the odd clanmate hurry past through the nasty, drizzly mess. It was not, unfortunately, bad enough weather to excuse anyone from their daily duties, but there was still no way Creampaw was leaving his nest. Everyone else could much around out there if they wanted, but not him, no sir. He'd done his share of cleaning out the Elder's nests that morning, and he was quite content to spend the rest of the afternoon hiding out and maybe napping.
If he didn't get bored first, of course. Sigh.

It was quiet at camp. Well. That was due to the horrible whether, well, at least that’s what Cherrypaw though of it as. The grey sludge was still raining down, about as heavily as it was at dawn. She disliked all kinds of cold, wet sludge and didn’t have any intention what so ever to leave the apprentice den, where she sat in her warm nest, alone, cold but otherwise ok.
Cherrypaw slowly opened her eyes, blinking her long black eye lashes daintily before her eyes got used to the dim light that was dappled in the apprentice area. She sighed as she looked outside… it was just plain… well, greyness. Cherrypaw delicately raised her head from where it rested on her paws and looked at the caramel coloured tom sitting in his nest, only a few fox lengths away from Cherrypaw herself. She would know that stunning caramel coloured fur anywhere, “Creampaw, I see you are smart enough to stay inside as well?”. She had a glint of teasing in her eyes as she indicated towards the vast greyness in which she could only see the outlines of her clanmates out in the cold.
